Physiotherapy Clinic-GV Physiotherapy

I have a particular interest in Physiotherapy, not because I am one or want to be one, but, because I have endured nearly three years of constant treatment for neck and shoulder injuries from my local physiotherapists, for injuries I received following a fall off a roof while at work. With such a prolonged treatment regime, following three shoulder operations, visiting two to three times a week, every week with my physiotherapist, I naturally developed a really good relationship with them and their staff.

Over that time I have come to realize, and experience their true value and benefit in assisting with recovering from injuries. So, I feel I am some what qualified to give a recommendation for their profession, professionalism and vouch for physiotherapists in rehabilitation.

The Best Physiotherapists

I want to thank Jim, Arlene and Aaron for their enthusiasm, contributions and being so positive about the creation of this Hub about The 'Best Physiotherapists in the Goulburn Valley'. These guys at GV Physiotherapy, have given me back an improved ability to self manage my condition, my pain and to increase the use of both arms and shoulders following three surgical operations, which have contributed to restoring my independance and return to somewhat 'normal' activities. Jim Marx and Aaron Plant's professional, friendly approach to my physiotherapy treatment plan and recovery has been exceptional.

Physiotherapy Treatments

At GV Physiotherapy there are seven qualified Physios, all of which also provide a particular range of treatment and services. Among those services are treatment and prevention of spinal or peripheral joint work injuries, rehabilitation to aid post surgical recovery, which is what they have given me, Clinical Pilates for spinal stabilization to improve muscle efficiency, posture and movement patterns.

Jim and Aaron wouldn't forgive me if I didn't include all of their professional services, so, they also provide; Gerontology which is the assessment and management of mobility problems, falls and balance disorders. The list continues with Functional restoration, supervised fixed duration functional exercise programs to assist clients with chronic conditions, they even provide western acupuncture techniques for Myofascial and joint pathologies.

#Neurological Physiotherapy

#Vertigo-BPPV

#Paediatric Physiotherapy

Being a simple layman, I won't go into detail of what all these terms and treatments represent, but, I am sure if you ask your physiotherapist, they would happily explain what is involved in each, and what benefits will be gained by undergoing a suitable treatment plan for your individual problem.

What is Physiotherapy Anyway?

Jim and Aaron describe physiotherapy as using clinical reasoning to assess and manage movement disorders arising from a variety of causes across all ages of life. They use foundation knowledge in the areas of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, neurophysiology and psychology. Physiotherapists use principles of evidence-based practice, to treat congenital and acquired movement disorders of the cardiorespiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal systems.

Well if that isn't a mouthful, those are their words in describing what physiotherapists do, I simply couldn't provide such a descriptive explanation, trust me. But wait, there's more...

Strategies include education, exercise training, postural and motor re-education, use of electrophysical modalities, and specific techniques such as manipulation, mobilization, stretching, and soft tissue massage. They are indeed highly qualified to treat your condition and assist you with your rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy Movement Exercises

One on one physiotherapy treatment, as well as rehabilitation exercises help to restore the correct pattern of movement, because after injury your body tends to take on a compensatory pattern of movement, so you must re-learn the proper joint and muscle movement.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the physiotherapists at Goulburn Valley Physiotherapy Centre if your in this region and need assistance, they will restore your normal patterns of movement following injury or physical complaint. Their new rehabilitation centre is fully equipped to bring you back to feeling whole and pain free.

Staff: Jim Marx, Aaron Plant, Bronwyn Grant, Brenton Kiel, Sally Plant, Joanne Little, Annie Bence and of course Arlene Spence who is the practice manager.

This is a great guide. The personal notes, photos, maps, and video work together nicely. Seeing a personal therapist is not exactly someone plans on doing before the need arises, so it's nice that you've been able to share what you've found all in one, convenient location!

Hi Simone, thankyou for taking the time to visit and giving your comment, seeing a physiotherapist would also be for more preventative measures, maintaining good posture and balance etc, although it's not something everyone considers until they are either injured or for rehabilitation following surgery. If that's what you need, these are the right guys to see in my area.
